Iván M. Jorrín Abellán, Ph.D.

Dr. Iván M. Jorrín Abellán is professor of educational research at Kennesaw State University (Ga) (USA).
He has worked for twelve years (2002-2014) for the Intelligent & Cooperative Systems/Education, Media, Informatics & Culture (GSIC/EMIC) Research Group at the University of Valladolid (Spain), where he obtained his PhD in Educational Technology. Within this transdisciplinary team formed by engineers, computer scientists and educators, he contributed to the development of a series of innovative technologies to support teachers in the complete life-cycle of collaborative learning environments. In 2009, after a Fulbright research stay at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he founded and later directed, the Transdisciplinary Center for Research in Education (CETIE-UVa), also at the University of Valladolid.
In 2014 he started working at Kennesaw State University (Ga) where he has recently developed the Hopscotch Model; A theoretical model and a web tool to support the generation of research designs, especially in Education. You can have a look at his CV in the following link.

Olga Koz, Ph.D.

Dr. Olga Koz is an experienced Graduate Education Librarian at the Kennesaw State University. She provides instruction, training and research support for faculty and graduate students on topics including research synthesis, systematic and traditional literature review, literature searching and evaluation, research data, and citation management. Her areas of expertise include educational psychology, knowledge and media management, information and computer science, including information retrieval using a cluster, concept, and semantic search. As a part of her job responsibilities she monitors, evaluate, and select for purchase electronic databases, publishers’ collections of e-books and e-journals and repositories. Dr. Koz was involved in usability studies of numerous discovery tools and information retrieval systems. She was assisting Dr. Ivan Jorrin Abellan in the selection of appropriate resources and creating tutorials that inform users of the HopScotch web tool.
Olga holds a Doctor of Management (DM) with concentration in Emerging Media Management from the Colorado Technical University and a Master’s of Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) from Emporia State University. She also earned the postgraduate diploma in Psychology from the Tver State University and the Honors Diploma in Library Science with specialization in Teaching Methods from the Moscow State University of Culture.

Mónica Fontana Abad, Ph.D.

Dr. Mónica Fontana Abad is associate professor in the Department of Research and Psychology in Education at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). She is currently spending a one-year research stay in Uganda. Her research can be framed within the field of program evaluation and teaching quality in relation to socio-emotional competences in complex social contexts.
She is member of the “Calidad y Evaluación de Instituciones Educativas,” and GIAFE research groups. She is currently involved in the following research grants: a) Proyecto I+D “Impacto de la implantación de sistema de calidad en centros educativos” (2009-12); b) Proyecto I+D “Red de cooperación profesorado-estudiantes a través del Servicio de Orientación Universitaria”. Hillary Hettinger Steiner, Ph.D.

Dr. Hillary Steiner is Associate Director for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science at Kennesaw State University. In her role at CETL she provides campus-wide SoTL support, programming, and leadership. Her current professional interests include metacognition and self-regulated learning, SoTL support and advocacy, and the teaching of psychology. She has been very active in professional service at the international, national, and local level, serving as a Vice President (US Region) of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL), Conference Chair of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Summit, Program Chair for ISSOTL19, and the founder and past chair of the SoTL Special Interest Group of the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network in Higher Education. She is a recipient of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents’ SoTL Award and the American Psychological Association’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
